Working to Give LLC, (GIVE) is a for-profit corporation that traces its inception to a college MBA project in 2005. GIVE is the parent company to a number of businesses that operate under various names (DBA's) such as Colossal Gelato, Legendairy Gelato, and Popular all of which follow one simple rule; take the company profits and invest 50% back into the business and give the other 50% away. This is how GIVE lives its mission statement "Working to Give; Living to Serve." Inspired from Mark 12:8 to "love our neighbor as much as we love ourselves," this 50/50 principle is no new teaching. GIVE is living faith out loud and we hope you will be inspired to do so too.

Working to Give Inc, (the "Foundation") is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit Christian humanitarian organization that serves the needy and hurting people of the world. The Foundation has a single-minded vision to live faith out loud by deed and action so that men might see the saving love of Jesus Christ. The Foundation has five divisions to achieve this goal. "Seed Growers" a division that funds micro-loans, "Reality Film," a documentary video team, "Good Shepherds" a missions sending group "Matthew's Home" a house of hope, and "Joseph's Storehouse" a International Food Bank.

The Foundation is supported primarily through donor contributions and internal fund raising activities sponsored by Working to Give LLC. In addition, Working to Give LLC pays all costs associated with the Foundation, so that every penny raised goes directly to programs benefiting children, families, and communities in need.

Colossal Gelato LLC is dissolved and is incorporated under its new name, Working to Give "LLC." With a renewed focus on its mission the Working to Give Foundation is also started.
>> FOUNDATION
The foundation is a 'Christian humanitarian organization that serves the needy and hurting people of the world. Working to Give partners with existing U.S. organizations and developing countries to serve those that are torn by war, famine, disease and natural disaster. Working to Give has a single-minded commitment to live faith out loud through deeds and action so that men and women might know the saving love of Jesus Christ. Five new affiliates of the Foundation are launched; Good Shepherds, Reality, Matthew's Home, Seed Growers, and Joseph's Storehouse. Each of the five affiliates are unique in their task but one in mission, 'Working to Give; Living to Serve."
>> POPULAR
A gourmet popsickle line is introduced through a third company called "POPULAR." Beer, wine, yogurt and gelato handcrafted on a stick is the product lineup sold at our first theme park, Downtown Disney. Sales increase 40% from year three and donations are over 30k a year. The company founder takes a mission trip to the Horn of Africa and is forever changed in the direction of the company. Yes, you can hit the target spot on only later to realize you hit the wrong target. Popular
>> LEGENDAIRY GELATO
Demand for a second mobile gelateria exceeds the availability of one mobile trailer and Legendairy is built. Partnering with several ag agencies such as the CA Farm Bureau and the CA Milk Advisory Board Legendairy is launched with an emphasis on ag education. >> COLOSSAL GELATO
Colossal Gelato "LLC" is deviewed at its first festival in February 2008 and opens with a bang. Its first day we gross $105 and the gelato machine breaks down only after two gelato pans are made. Without question a humble opening and a reminder that the business belongs to the Lord; we get to steward it. Year one books 16 shows and has modest sales of 225k while the second year grows sales by 34%. Colossal Gelato icon

>> PATIENCE IS KEY
It's a good thing there was a lot of excitement to open shop because the next two years posed serious challenges. Apparently a mountain bike and surfboard aren't sufficient collateral to secure a loan, in fact, it almost seemed you had to prove to the banks you didn't need the money before they'd loan you the money. After being turned down by every bank for a loan the business plan shifted from opening a gelato store to being one that was mobile. The investment for this new venture required half the capital of the storefront gelateria and funding for this adventure was possible from the bank of mom and dad.
Italy Family vacation
>> ITALY BOUND
One step closer to materializing the gelato business, founder Matthew Holguin set out to Italy in search of the art to making gelato. Three months and 141 gelaterias later it was done. Having prefaced recipes and mastering ten Italian words he was ready to open shop back home in the U.S. All that was needed now was a storefront location.
>>THE TERM PAPER
Three college students earning their MBA from Azusa Pacific University developed a business model around the concept of being purpose driven rather than profit driven. From the beginning the goal has always been aggressive in giving, sharing half its profits with charities. The initial business plan was developed around the idea of introducing the American public to gelato through several gelaterias throughout California. Azusa logo

The first of all the Working to Give Companies. Colossal Gelato began in 2008 as a mobile gelateria that frequents county fairs, athletic events, and festivals throughout the state of California. Colossal is famous for its "World's Largest Waffle Cone," which stands tall at 2' filled high with over a half gallon of gelato.

>> 1. If the orphans of the world were a country they would be the 7th largest country.

>> 2. Imagine you were to drive on a very long road. If you had these orphans hold hands in a line, you would see over 1,900 orphans per mile. If you were to follow that line of Orphans holding hands, driving 60 mph, you could drive 24 hours a day seeing 1,900 orphans ever mile, hour after hour, day after day without stopping for over two months, and you would still see orphans holding hands.
